Wranglers Lose Odd Monday Night Game in Eugene

The Wranglers scored first, but the Eugene Generals fired back with three quick consecutive goals to end the period 3-1. The Wranglers are playing agressive and getting shots on goal, which is better than last night, but again they're making mistakes which enable the Generals to take advantage of the mistakes and score. The first goal was scored by DJ Giguere (unassisted) at 8:43. Shots in the first period were 19 by the Generals and only 10 for the Wranglers. Unfortunately this 2-1 or near 2-1 shot ratio has been consistent for the Wranglers all season.

The second period proved very disappointing for the Wranglers with the Generals scoring 6 goals in the second period. Once again the Wrangler offense was inconsistent because of poor and inconsistent passes, and plenty of defensive mistakes giving the Generals easy scoring, including a short-handed goal. This is so disappointing for Wrangler fans. End of the second period Wrangers 1, Generals 10. Again the Wranglers are getting outshot 2-1 with the Generals getting 24 shots on goal and the Wranglers getting only 11 shots on goal.

The Wranglers won the third period 1-0 but unfortunately the final score ended up to be 10-2. Cafrelli was replaced by Jared Blanton - his first time in net this season - and netted a shutout for the period. Paul Blase scored a short-handed goal (unassisted) at 6:30 to give the Wranglers a second goal for the evening. The Generals had plenty of scoring opportunities but the Wranglers were tough defensively both with the "D" as well as excellent net-minding by Blanton. Jared faced 24 shots by the Generals. The Wranglers only put four shots on goal. Fortunately one of the four went in.

Does anybody know what the fix is for the Wranglers?

The Wranglers will return to Eugene this weekend for a couple of games. Perhaps the Wranglers can work out a spooky Halloween win over Eugene? Let's hope so.
