Jags & T-Hawks This Weekend

The Wranglers have two games with two different opponents this weekend. Game one on Friday night (Dec. 12) with the River City Jaguars. And, game two on Saturday night (Dec. 13) with the Puget Sound Tomahawks.

Quickly, Jags are a scoring team and they're in 4th place. They'll probably be in 3rd place after Friday night ('cuz I suspect they'll beat the hapless Wranglers), but then after Saturday night they'll be back in 4th place because the T-hawks will beat the hapless Wranglers. The Tomahawks are a persistent team that will grind you down.

Okay, okay, so I'm not being as supportive as I should be, but the Wranglers haven't shown me anything that should have me thinking anything else. Each week I write... the Wranglers have got to pass, blah, blah, blah... the Wranglers have got to set up an offense, blah, blah, blah... the Wranglers have got to shoot on goal, blah, blah, blah. So shoot me! We all know what needs to be done including the players. I'm not blaming the players, rather I haven't seen the coaching and play building for the Wranglers. I'm not so sure the Wranglers know what to do with the puck once they cross the red line. They're unsure who to pass to, because there's no such thing as lines. I support the players because I see the talent, and I know they are not competely responsible for a 1-22 season. After a while the blog entries seem like you're listening to a broken record player... pass, offense, shoot... pass, offense, shoot... pass, offense, shoot...

The Wranglers played both teams last weekend so review those blog entries to learn about what the Wranglers will be facing, except increases in scoring points by Jags Nighbert and Nicklas, and T-hawks players Tessin and Kaufman. Both the Jags and the T-hawks lost their last games. The Jags were soundly beat by the Generals on Monday 0-6, and the Coeur d'Alene Lakers beat the T-hawks on Sunday 4-3. So the Jags and the T-hawks will be looking to rebound for their losses to stay in playoff contention.

I'm not all the Grinch, I enjoy the Wranglers and hope the best for them. Perhaps my Christmas wish calendar that I will open on Friday and Saturday will show me a Wrangler each day and they'll win. I've already sat on Santa's lap and said, "All I want for Christmas are a bunch of Wrangler wins." And, my Wrangler socks are hung with care with dreams of sugar-plum goals. So, please surprise me with one or two wins this weekend! Go Wranglers. See you in Portland and in Bremerton.

Player notes: The Jags will be without Nourse because of a game misconduct from Monday's game with Eugene. Several Wrangler players were out of practice this week suffering from colds or flu, but I haven't heard of any "official scratches." Assistant Coach Dan Switalla will not be on the bench (no reason given).

Other notes: There's supposed to be snow this weekend in the Puget Sound area. So, we'll see about attending Saturday nights game.
