Coaching Rumors

There's more and more noise coming out of Medford that the search for the new Wrangler coach is nearly over. Again rumors say that there were many very qualified coaches that applied for the head coaching job. One applicant was rumored to be a former USA U-17 National Team Coach, AJHL Assistant and former east coast Junior A player. Another former coach, a former ECHL and AJHL player let me know via an E-mail that he didn't get the job and believed that the Wranglers were very close to making a decision. This is all great news. Why? These two guys are both quality coaching material and if they were turned down, then the coach Kevin & Ron chose must be the best. Stay tuned to the http://www.roguevalleywranglers.com/ website for an announcement. I am hoping that the new Wrangler coach will be at Globals - both at Burnaby and Las Vegas - to do some quality recruiting.

Yes it might be another building year for the Wranglers but hopefully with a few quality returning players, and some good recruiting the Wranglers will have a better 2009-2010 season. Anything is better than last year. What I'm hoping that the new coach will bring a system to the Wranglers that will include passing, cycling the puck, scoring, and perhaps a few more wins. You know Wrangler fans that the Wrangler Camp is just barely 3 months away, and in just over 4 months the 2009-2010 season starts! Woo hoo!
