Wranglers Announce Two Tenders

Today the Wrangler website gave the details on two tenders - Vincent Ciaglo and Micheal Feagan. This is definitely exciting. Way to go Kevin! Go to the Rogue Valley Wranglers website to read more about these two tenders. The Nevada Stars are a very respectable team and always play tough in AAA tournaments. I suspect Micheal is a friend of Grant Long since Grant came from the St. Albert area (suburb of Edmonton, Alberta). A search of the web shows that St. Albert was a tough AAA tournament competitor. I think these two boys will be fine additions to the the Wranglers. Keep up the good recruiting work Cheli, Kevin, Dan and crew.

If you read the comments on the previous blog posts you will see that several Wranglers attended the Fresno Monster - Western States Hockey League (WSHL) Jr. A Tier III - combined camp with the Springfield Blues - North American Hockey League (NAHL) Jr. A Tier II. Reportedly Zach Miller, last year's mid-season transfer from Helena is playing for the Mile High Moose (nee Colorado Outlaws - Jr. A Tier III). If you visit the Poinstreak website you will see Zach on the roster for the Outlaws. Zach is from the Colorado area. However, rumor reports via an anonymous tip says Zach will be playing for an NAHL team.

Jeff Purslow was the only Wrangler that attended the 2009 Junior Player Showcase (JPS). He also was rumored to tryout recently with the Fresno Monster/Springfield Blues. Hopefully Jeff gets some other invites to camps from this. If not, I hope to see Jeff back with the Wranglers for the 2009-2010 season. Jeff is a great, tenacious forward that knows how to score.

Aaron Riermersma is reported to be wooed by the Squamish Wolfpack of the Pacific International Junior Hockey League (Canadian Jr. B) which has a close association with the Burnaby Express, BCHL (Canadian Jr. A). If indeed Aaron plays for Squamish Wolfpack the Wranglers will miss his tenacity and fast skating. I doubt Aaron will be back with the Wranglers. Good luck Aaron!

Josef Chase will be on his way to Chicago next week to tryout for the NAHL Wenatchee Wild next week after being personally invited by the Wild. Josef has put on about 35 lbs. of muscle and reportedly has stepped up his skating speed and tenacity for the puck. The Wild say they're always interested in a big defenseman. Canadian hockey is typical of that frantic play which teaches a player to have "puck tenacity." However, the picking up speed will be an asset which is typical of US hockey play. I wish Josef the best of luck at his NAHL Wild tryout. However, I would welcome his return to the Wranglers for 2009-2010.

Richard Riemersma (Aaron's dad) reports that both boys - Aaron & Josef - have been at similar tryouts and playing spring league (Vancouver BC area Ultimate Hockey League) together for the past couple of months. The FV (Fraser Valley) Flames the team Aaron & Josef play for is in 2nd place with a 5-0-1 record. Aaron is a leading scorer for the FV Flames.

Do you have a Wrangler player rumor or success story? If so, let me know. Wrangler fans are excited for the 2009-2010 season.
