Wranglers & Totems Play This Weekend

The Seattle Totems come to Wrangler Town this weekend for a couple of games. It will be interesting to see what Wrangler team shows up for the games. In order for the Wranglers to compete with Seattle the Wranglers will need to shoot, pass, and hit. Three things that have recently been scarce with the Wranglers.

The Totems have 9 players that have 10 or more points from goals and assists. Three players - Schulze, Stombaugh, and Galvin have over 30 points. Schulze (#16) and Stombaugh (#15) are also NorPac scoring leaders in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. So far the Totems have scored 92 goals against their opponents in the last 18 games. What's more is that the Totems are top in NorPac with the Power Play at 24.1%. So the Totems know how to shoot and score. And, we all know the Totems know how to hit. The Totems still lead the league in penalty minutes with 690.

The very last game the Wranglers played the Totems, the Wranglers kept the score low at 3-0 and played a very respectable game. They frustrated the Totem players by keeping them from standing in front of the net, doing some good hitting, and keeping a good watch on Schluze and Stombaugh. Schulze only had an assist that game but no goal. However, the Wranglers failed to score in either game and were disappointing in the number of shots on goal (23, 17). The Totems fired over 50 shots on goal in each game. If the Wranglers are not careful the Totems could take the games away from the Wranglers early.

I've heard that the Wranglers have traded Webster to Tri-Cities for a new defenseman, and that PJ Brown is out with an injury. There are also some positional changes for the Wranglers. How will these changes affect the game with Seattle? We'll have to wait and see. I just hope the games don't turn into a blow-out. I really would like to see the Wranglers pull out a mid-season upset. It would be "oh, so sweet." Predictions? Sorry, I don't do that any more.

Good luck Wranglers! Beat the Totems.
