The only "official" word from the Wranglers is that Regional Scouts are being hired to look for new talent across the country. Rumors are plenty though. What's real and what's not? Well let's examine some facts and rumors that have been heard...
- US automaker execs come to Washington to face Congress, and all Wrangler coaches and staff have met with Kevin and Ron.
- Not only are the national and state economies in trouble, but the Wranglers are too.
- National unemployment rates are up, and so it is with the Wranglers coaches and staff.
- Big bailout for the US, and the Wranglers too. Eat more pizza!
- Kansas governor considered for Health & Human Services Cabinet Chief, and a youth midget "AAA" rep travel coach is being considered, which also comes with a big salary.
- California furloughs state workers to ease budget woes, and Wranglers consider only one paid coach; assistant coaches and trainer are welcome but as volunteers only.
- US pledges to leave Iraq in 18 months, and only 8 of last year's 22 Wrangler players are asked to return.
Hmmm? Like many of you I am confused, disappointed, depressed, and anxious. One side of me has to be optimistic for the future, but the way the stock market is going its hard to see any sort of future. All season long my Wrangler stock has been plummeting and now I'm waiting for the bailout and if that doesn't work its just like the automakers - bankruptcy. Everyone says things are supposed to get better in 2010 - the Wranglers too?
Now like any good Hollywood dirt magazine I need to get some dirt to ease my Wrangler addiction, my Wrangler anxiety. So if you got any good 'dirt' that can help the Wrangler Curmudgeon separate fact from fiction let me know by posting a comment. (I'll even allow "anonymous" to post, but if it gets nasty I'll go back to requiring id's again.) Until then I will keep my ear to the ground, my nose to the wind, and my eyes open waiting for the news, any Wrangler news.
