This just in via a post, and was published in the Medford Mail Tribune at 6:06 PM on May 1, 2009.

"The Rogue Valley Wranglers junior hockey league team has named the brother of 13-time NHL All-Star Chris Chelios as its new coach. Following a national search, Steve Chelios, 40, and the youngest of five children, was signed to a three-year contract.

His famous brother is a three-time winner of the Norris Trophy, which is awarded to the league's top defenseman. The older Chelios plays for the Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings. At 47, he is the oldest active player in the NHL and also the NHL's all-time leader in career penalty minutes. He has played on three Stanley Cup championship teams.

Steve Chelios never made it past training camp at the NHL level, but he spent five years playing major junior hockey in Canada as a teenager and eight more as a professional in the minor leagues and in Europe before embarking on a coaching career.

He's coached for 13 seasons at the minor and junior levels and was a conditioning and skills instructor with the NHL's Florida Panthers during the team's preseason camp last fall before breaking his arm while playing in a men's league game."
